... and I loved watching the adverts on TV growing up and could recite them word for word to my mum!
I took a really random bunch of A level subjects that weren’t related to each other (the only one I loved was art!) then I took PR & Advertising at Uni.
My first job was as Business Development Manager for a large building consultancy, I got an MSc in Marketing & Business Management whilst working there. After 5 years, I fell pregnant with my first baby in 2010. The company wouldn’t allow me to return part time so I quit.
In maternity leave I trained in baby casting worked for a franchise for a bit and by the time my son was 2 ½ I had set up my first business; First Treasures – it’s still going strong!
I grew First Treasures purely from a Facebook page initially (Instagram didn’t exist then) and then I created my own website and started marketing on Instagram later on.
I remember the first big thing I was able to buy with the money from my business – a playhouse for Jack’s 3rd birthday and since then it has been paying my half of the mortgage, holidays, treats for the kids, and I have been there for every nursery and school pick up, illness, achievement etc for the kids. That’s the most precious thing of all.
For a long time, I didn’t have the headspace to launch a second business – I was running First Treasures while solo parenting most of the time, as my husband worked intense shifts in the police.
In 2022, after facing burnout and PTSD, he left the force. For a while, I was the only earner, and it was a big turning point for our family. Soon after leaving the police, Ed set up a gardening business with my support and began building his client base
In 2024, just after I turned 40, I launched LG Insightful Brands to share my marketing experience with women balancing business and family life.
Since then I have helped over 500 people with my eBooks, masterclasses, courses, coaching and website development.
