Over 20 years working in marketing.

15 years running my own businesses.

Marketing has been my career for more than twenty years.

I studied marketing at university and went on to work in advertising, PR and marketing roles before becoming a marketing manager.

Over the years I’ve seen how marketing works inside organisations, how businesses build visibility, and how brands grow when their messaging is clear.

But the most valuable lessons didn’t come from working inside companies.

They came from running my own businesses.

For the last fifteen years I’ve been building and growing businesses myself. Which means I understand what it’s actually like when the marketing decisions are yours, the time pressure is real, and the results really matter.

How my experience shapes the way I work

Over the years I kept noticing the same pattern.

Small business owners were brilliant at what they did, but their marketing didn’t always reflect the quality of their work.

Their website didn’t clearly explain what they offered.

Their branding didn’t reflect how good their business actually was.

Their messaging felt vague or inconsistent.

And they were often trying to piece together marketing advice from lots of different places.

That’s where LG Insightful Brands came from.

I wanted to help small business owners bring clarity to their marketing so their brand, website and messaging actually represent the value of their work.

My Approach to Marketing

There’s a lot of noise in the marketing world. New platforms, new tactics, new strategies.

But most small businesses don’t need more complicated marketing.

They need clarity.

Clarity about who they help.

Clarity about what makes their business valuable.

Clarity in how they communicate that online.

When those foundations are right, everything else becomes much easier.

Your marketing starts making sense.

Your message becomes clearer.

And the right clients begin to recognise that you're the person who can help them.

Who I Work With

Most of the people I work with are small business owners who are passionate about what they do but feel stuck when it comes to marketing.

Often they are:

• service-based businesses

• women running businesses alongside family life

• experts in their field who struggle to explain their value clearly online

• businesses that have grown but whose branding or website hasn’t kept up

A bit about life outside the business.

Alongside running LG Insightful Brands, I’m also a mum, and like many of the business owners I work with, my businesses have grown alongside family life.

I started my first business when my children were young and built it over more than a decade while juggling school runs, family life and everything else that comes with raising a family. That business, First Treasures, grew far beyond what I ever expected and is now something I’m preparing to pass on after many years of building it.

Life hasn’t always been straightforward either. One of, which has meant learning to navigate the world of SEN support alongside running a business. At one point I was also the main earner for our family while my husband stepped away from the police and built his own businesses.

So when I talk about running a business in the real world, I genuinely mean it.

I understand what it’s like to be building something important while also managing family life, unexpected challenges and the day-to-day reality of being responsible for your own income.

That’s why the advice I give is always practical and grounded in real experience. I’m not interested in complicated marketing theories or unrealistic strategies. I focus on helping business owners build marketing that works in real life.
